Reporting Specialist (Insurance)

Location: Shanghai, China; primarily office-based

What you will do

• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual regulatory reports to the CBIRC, PBOC, SAFE, and insurance association.
• Validate system-generated data against reported figures, perform reconciliations, reasonableness checks, and variance analysis.
• Prepare management summaries, exception reports, and preliminary analysis of trends and significant variations.
• Maintain report documentation and audit trails, update SOPs, and support internal and external audit requests.
• Monitor regulatory changes and participate in reporting process improvement, efficiency, and automation initiatives.
• Perform AML-related duties, including KYC and large, suspicious, and high-risk customer reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in accounting or a related field.
• Finance-related experience; insurance or audit firm experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Power BI.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, time-management, responsibility, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Good oral and written English required.
• Professional ethics and willingness to learn and improve.

Nice to have

• CPA or ACCA qualification.
• Experience with advanced Excel, pivot tables, Power Query, and data visualization.
