Referral Specialist I- BioPlus (Healthcare)

Location: Lake Mary, Florida, United States; hybrid schedule with 1–2 required in-office days per week. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance unless a legally required accommodation is granted.

What you will do

• Support the clinical team with the administrative coordination of clinical referrals.
• Contact prescriber offices and patients regarding refills, demographic information, and referral details.
• Initiate and manage referrals for pre-authorization, including CT, MRI, MRA, PET, and other imaging exams.
• Verify insurance coverage, complete authorization steps, and review referrals for completeness.
• Coordinate between hospitals, health plans, physicians, patients, vendors, and other referral sources.
• Enter referrals and document communications and actions while managing calls, texts, faxes, and electronic queues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in a high-volume, interactive customer service or call center environment, or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, empathy, and persistence.
• Ability to multitask, maintain focus during extended periods of sitting, and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work from the Lake Mary office as required, including the regular 1–2 day-per-week hybrid schedule and occasional additional onsite work.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Pharmacy Technician License.
