Insurance Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee, United States; fully onsite with no remote or hybrid options.

What you will do

• Review and audit aging patient accounts to support accurate and timely payments.
• Investigate the reasons behind aging claims and identify recurring trends.
• Communicate with payors, patients, collection agencies, coworkers, and other professionals to resolve account issues.
• Identify account errors and follow them through to resolution.
• Verify and obtain patient insurance and benefits information while supporting the billing department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of experience in a similar role, such as accounts receivable, insurance verification, or electronic billing.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Must live in the Knoxville area or be in the process of relocating; this position is fully onsite.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, occasionally stoop, bend, and stretch, and lift up to 30 pounds.

• Associate’s degree in a business-related field.
