Senior Manager, Commercial Strategic Sourcing (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Princeton, NJ, United States

Salary: $134,615–$201,250 annually, plus incentive opportunity.

A pharmaceutical organization developing and commercializing medicines, with operations across the United States, Japan, and regional markets.

What you will do

• Lead commercial strategic sourcing for market research and data categories.
• Execute sourcing strategy and category management initiatives in partnership with business owners and functional sourcing teams.
• Manage strategic vendor relationships, sourcing projects, RFx processes, and contract negotiations, including agreements exceeding $10 million.
• Identify cost optimization and continuous improvement opportunities, targeting 10–15% annual savings in assigned spend areas.
• Develop sourcing KPIs, operational metrics, reporting, and controls for tracking performance, risks, and savings realization.
• Partner with FP&A, Financial Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Corporate Services, regional stakeholders, and the parent company in Japan.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in commercial strategic sourcing, including transformational initiatives.
• Experience with commercial sourcing strategies in the pharmaceutical industry and with large, complex sourcing projects.
• Expertise in procurement strategy, supplier contract negotiation, spend analysis, RFx tools, contract management, and preferred supplier programs.
• Experience working with senior-level clients and vendors, influencing stakeholders, and communicating complex sourcing topics clearly.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder partnership skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related area; an MBA or MS is preferred.
