Full-Stack Developer (Python/Django)

Location: Bethesda, Maryland, United States; full-time onsite work with the USCD team in Bethesda, MD

What you will do

• Develop and support DailyMed, an NIH/NLM resource for current drug labeling and related public-health information.
• Build full-stack web applications using Python, Django, Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Implement and debug search and data systems using Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Solr, Oracle, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Develop and maintain applications running in Docker containers.
• Use GitLab, Bamboo, and other CI/CD pipeline tools within Agile software development.
• Apply software engineering practices including testing, debugging, JIRA, and test-driven development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack web application development experience with Python, Django, and Angular.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering, physics, or another scientific field, or equivalent experience.
• Current experience with Java, Python/Django, JavaScript, CSS, Ruby, HTML5, and Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Git or SVN, Docker, CI/CD tools, cloud computing environments, and Agile methodology.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software engineering tools, and test-driven development.
• Ability to work full-time with the USCD team in Bethesda, Maryland.
