Underwriter II, Energy (Insurance)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; primarily in the office

Base salary for positions based in Illinois: $84,000–$111,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Underwrite new and renewal business for the Power and Utility segment.
• Assess risk desirability through broker communication, claims history reviews, and company information analysis.
• Coordinate with hirify.global subject matter experts during underwriting reviews.
• Provide timely, proactive service to brokers and expand the broker network through market relationships and events.
• Prepare monthly management information covering submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium.

Requirements

• 3+ years of underwriting experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Customer- and sales-oriented behavior, with a proactive, technically skilled, focused, tenacious, and accountable approach.
• Ability to work primarily in the Chicago office.
