Senior Structural Engineer - Transportation

What you will do

• Deliver structural engineering projects from concept and detailed design through tender, construction supervision, and completion.
• Lead technical reviews, design checks, quality assurance systems, and coordinated multidisciplinary design delivery.
• Support project management by defining client briefs, technical requirements, scopes, deliverables, costs, resources, and schedules.
• Monitor project progress, design variations, financial budgets, and resource allocation.
• Maintain client relationships, manage expectations, and support repeat business.
• Develop new business opportunities by preparing bids, proposals, tender responses, and contractual assessments.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered or working towards Chartership; IStructE or ICE preferred.
• At least six years of industry experience, ideally in a design consultancy, leading and managing structural projects.
• Experience across sectors such as aviation, highways and roads, rail and transit, or maritime infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of UK design standards, regulations, health and safety legislation, and Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
• Experience with industry-standard software such as Tekla, Tedds, ETABS, Robot, or Revit, plus project finance and commercial management.
