Systems Engineer - Mission Integration & Capability Delivery

Location: Hybrid in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States, with periodic coordination or travel to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and other sites as required. U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance are required.

Salary: $110,448–$160,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Translate operational mission needs into technical outcomes, constraints, decision points, integration actions, and measurable evidence.
• Develop and assess architectures, functional boundaries, interfaces, data flows, operational concepts, and technical baselines for complex multi-system capabilities.
• Analyze cross-disciplinary issues involving hardware, software, networks, data, cybersecurity, operations, infrastructure, testing, and sustainment.
• Coordinate program offices, engineering teams, operators, laboratories, test organizations, security stakeholders, and industry partners.
• Design analyses, demonstrations, prototypes, simulations, and interface events to test assumptions and reduce delivery risk.
• Support technical reviews, mission-thread tests, demonstrations, anomaly resolution, user evaluations, acceptance activities, and transition to operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, data science, engineering management, or a closely related technical field.
• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience across several engineering, mission analysis, architecture, integration, testing, infrastructure, operations, or sustainment areas.
• Experience developing or assessing architectures, interfaces, data flows, technical baselines, integration criteria, test evidence, or complex capability plans.
• Ability to analyze root causes and dependencies, develop practical solution options, and communicate trade studies to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to build trust across organizational boundaries, influence without formal authority, lead defined technical efforts, and produce concise technical documentation and executive briefings.
• U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or current Top Secret or TS/SCI eligibility.
• Experience with satellite control, telemetry, tracking and control, command and control, mission management, communications, ground systems, or space-ground integration.
• Experience with modular open architectures, interface standards, APIs, data models, interoperability, simulation, analytics, automation, or digital integration environments.
• Experience with competitive prototyping, rapid capability maturation, operational acceptance, production scalability, or portfolio-level transition risk.
