Actuary - Nearly/Newly Qualified (Life Insurance)

Location: Hybrid working from the Dorking office, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home

What you will do

• Analyse demographic and economic experience to support actuarial decisions and business insight.
• Set assumptions for capital and risk management activities using actuarial judgement.
• Support the calibration of capital stresses within the Internal Model framework.
• Prepare reporting and analysis on experience investigations, assumptions, and capital outcomes.
• Develop risk and capital methodologies, processes, and controls while contributing to strategic projects.
• Present actuarial findings to Finance, Risk, senior management, and other stakeholders, and support actuarial students through guidance and coaching.

Requirements

• Nearly qualified actuary with 1–2 exams remaining, or newly qualified actuary with up to 3 years of post-qualified experience.
• Experience in Life Insurance, General Insurance, or Pensions.
• Knowledge of Solvency UK and the wider UK regulatory framework.
• Experience with actuarial modelling, assumption setting, experience analysis, or capital management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
• Collaborative, commercially minded, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities while challenging existing approaches.
