Assurance Senior Associate - Business Services

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid workstyle aligned to an hirify.global office, with consistent onsite presence during core business hours and travel to client sites as required

Compensation Range: $58,500–$101,600, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Coordinate audits of complex financial statements, related disclosures, and client deliverables.
• Develop client and industry knowledge and apply hirify.global’s Global Audit Methodology.
• Lead fieldwork, monitor engagement productivity and schedules, and train and supervise Audit Associates.
• Identify accounting and auditing matters, determine appropriate audit approaches, and communicate significant issues to managers, senior managers, and partners.
• Review workpapers, support financial statement preparation, and provide feedback through board communications, deficiency letters, and management letters.
• Manage client communication, address concerns, identify team performance improvements, and maintain ongoing professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another discipline from an accredited university.
• Active CPA license or demonstrated progress toward CPA licensure in the province of residence.
• 2–3 years of recent assurance experience in a public accounting environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and auditing software tools.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, CASs, IFRS, or other relevant regulatory requirements, with the ability to apply accounting and auditing standards.
• Experience supporting audit engagements from planning through completion, including testing, financial statement preparation, workpaper review, and staff mentoring.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, professional judgment, communication, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a professional office environment and at client sites, sit for extended periods, use standard office equipment, and occasionally move items typically under 20 lbs.
• Ability to work extended or non-standard hours during peak periods and maintain consistent onsite presence during core business hours, with regular office attendance, client-site travel, and reliable transportation.
