IT Senior Software Engineer (Hybrid)

Location: Berlin, Connecticut, United States; hybrid schedule with at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Must be able to work up to five days in the office when required and travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.

Annual salary: $127,350–$141,500, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable applications supporting operational processes and business functions.
• Translate business and technical requirements into maintainable solutions within Agile teams.
• Collaborate with architecture, database, and infrastructure teams on end-to-end system designs.
• Lead development activities and ensure alignment with performance, quality, security, and enterprise architecture standards.
• Own major application components, mentor lower-level engineers, and contribute to technical documentation.
• Support RFPs, solution selection, vendor engagement, production deployments, go-lives, automation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• At least five years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Advanced to expert knowledge of software development and the ability to scope and implement larger user stories independently.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, Agile/Scrum, Jira or Azure Boards, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with JSON, XML, RESTful API design, Oracle and relational database design and tuning, COTS product integration, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, observability, secure coding, authentication and authorization, secrets management, input validation, and application security risks.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship will not be considered. Availability for emergency restoration assignments and travel between MA, CT, and NH is required.
