TL;DR

Focus on leading multidisciplinary teams, directing field surveys and environmental analysis, managing project finances, and delivering complex NEPA documents through construction compliance.

Location: United States — Tulsa, Oklahoma, or Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The role includes periodic short-term travel for project assignments and client meetings.

What you will do

  • Manage natural and built environment studies, environmental permitting, and NEPA documentation across all project phases.
  • Lead teams conducting environmental assessments, resource reporting, permitting, field surveys, data interpretation, and technical writing.
  • Develop permitting strategies, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and prepare permit applications.
  • Oversee proposals, cost estimates, budgets, invoicing, schedules, and project financial performance.
  • Provide technical QA/QC, resolve project issues, and coordinate with scientific, engineering, design, and regulatory teams.
  • Develop client relationships, identify new opportunities, and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience in ecological or cultural resource surveys, NEPA planning, environmental analysis, and state or federal permitting.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience.
  • Proven experience with Section 404/401 permitting and third-party EA/EIS documents.
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, environmental sciences, planning, cultural resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Strong environmental analysis, permitting, technical writing, communication, organizational, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software; willingness and ability to travel is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience managing large, complex NEPA documents for transportation, large facility, land management, or other infrastructure projects.
  • Staff management experience.
  • Technical expertise in the design, implementation, interpretation, and presentation of environmental study data.
