Senior Preconstruction Engineer (Construction)

Location: Dallas, United States; full-time onsite role with regular job-site activity

What you will do

• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs, initial pricing, cost estimates, supporting documentation, and presentation graphics.
• Independently estimate interior, envelope, site, and structural scopes while interpreting applicable specifications.
• Organize estimates using UniFormat, MasterFormat with 49 divisions, and bid tabulations.
• Manage project documents, drawings, models, estimates, bid-day activities, scheduling inputs, lead times, and cost add-ons.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, support prequalification, and maintain the subcontractor database.
• Administer BIM and estimating tools, participate in client presentations, and supervise and mentor Preconstruction Engineers and Interns.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant construction or preconstruction experience.
• College degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with common estimating software and technology.
• Working knowledge of DESTINI Estimator, 2D on-screen quantity takeoff tools, and BIM360 for model-based estimating.
• Experience or ability to work with Microsoft Office, Procore, Revit, and Power BI.
• Ability to work on construction sites, move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, navigate uneven surfaces, and maintain consistent attendance.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with DESTINI Profiler or DESTINI Estimator.
• Interest in integrated project delivery, process improvement, and construction technology.
