Senior Software Engineer (Java/Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and execute enterprise-grade performance testing strategies for payment-processing services.
• Profile distributed systems, identify bottlenecks, and drive measurable performance improvements.
• Build and maintain backend services for card-network integration using Java, PostgreSQL, and OpenShift.
• Modernize applications by migrating services from legacy infrastructure to cloud-native environments.
• Develop PCI data-purging pipelines and event-driven services supporting secure data lifecycle management.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and cross-team technical planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily with Java.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL experience.
• Experience deploying and operating services in OpenShift, Kubernetes, or equivalent containerized environments.
• At least one enterprise-level performance testing engagement, including strategy, tooling, execution, and presenting findings.
• Experience with performance profiling, load testing, and bottleneck resolution in high-throughput distributed systems.
• Understanding of digital payments, PCI compliance, secure data handling, and event-driven architecture is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with PGLogical or PostgreSQL logical replication.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
• Experience with bank or card-network integration programs.
• Experience in segregated or air-gapped development environments.
