Security Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in the US East Coast or Central time zones

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 base salary per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build and own technical security improvements across AWS/GCP cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD systems.
• Design and iterate on SIEM, EDR/MDR, cloud-native detection, and CNAPP capabilities with a focus on automation and reliability.
• Hunt, investigate, and respond to security alerts and suspicious activity from triage through recovery.
• Develop detection logic, response playbooks, internal security tooling, infrastructure-as-code, and automation to reduce operational toil.
• Work within the Security Operations team and report to the Head of Security.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience, ideally in a cloud-first SaaS environment.
• Hands-on AWS and/or GCP security engineering across IAM, networking, compute, storage, and logging.
• Kubernetes and container security experience, including cluster hardening, workload isolation, runtime security, and policy controls.
• DevOps security fundamentals, including CI/CD security, secrets management, artifact integrity, and secure-by-default platform patterns.
• Incident response and investigation experience, plus strong Python or similar scripting skills.
• Infrastructure-as-code and automation experience, such as Terraform, along with endpoint security tooling such as CrowdStrike.

Nice to have

• Experience with Hunters, Wiz, Falcon, Tracebit, Torii, Okta, Google Workspace, StrongDM, GitHub, StepSecurity, or Dope Security.
• Information Security certifications such as AWS Certified Security, GIAC GWEB, OSCP, or CSSLP.
• Experience working in a fast-growing startup, scale-up, or SaaS company.
• Advanced experience with agent coding.
