Engineering Manager, Trading Platform (Fintech)

Location: United States

Base salary: $190,000–$230,000 per year, plus a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Set the team's direction, engineering standards, hiring bar, capacity plan, and day-to-day operating model.
• Coach engineers through 1:1s, feedback, performance reviews, and individualized development plans.
• Own the availability, performance, resilience, on-call health, incident follow-through, observability, and operational tooling for production systems.
• Drive delivery cadence and outcomes while ensuring roadmap coverage for reliability and technical investment.
• Partner with senior engineers, other Engineering Managers, Product, operations, infrastructure, and business leadership on architecture, risks, trade-offs, and priorities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with production systems, integrations, and operations.
• 2+ years of engineering management experience, including hiring, direction-setting, coaching, and team development.
• Experience leading teams responsible for production systems, on-call, incident response, and reliability.
• Technical credibility in backend and distributed-systems architecture, including trade-off decisions for high-availability, real-time, or event-driven services.
• Hands-on experience with .NET/C#, distributed systems, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong communication, data-informed decision-making, and the ability to balance delivery, reliability, technical investment, and changing business priorities.

Nice to have

• Trading, fintech, futures, or other regulated financial-environment experience.
• High-availability, low-latency, or real-time systems experience.
• Microservices and real-time messaging, such as WebSocket or SignalR.
• Cloud operations, infrastructure, on-call, and CI/CD tooling such as Argo CD or GitHub Actions.
