Senior Data Scientist (Machine Learning)

Salary: $114,500–$194,700 USD annually, plus a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.

What you will do

• Develop Python software to acquire, combine, and transform data from databases, files, APIs, and other sources into training, validation, and testing datasets.
• Analyze raw datasets with descriptive statistics and collaborate with domain experts to interpret data fields.
• Build unit tests, data quality checks, and ETL-style data pipelines that ensure algorithms use trusted data.
• Develop, tune, and evaluate supervised, unsupervised, and time-series machine learning algorithms, including ensemble methods and feature selection.
• Run large-scale parallel or distributed training and inference jobs on private or public cloud infrastructure.
• Present findings to technical and business audiences, guide software teams in productionizing prototypes, and lead data science training sessions and hackathons.

Requirements

• Computer Science degree at undergraduate or graduate level with a strong statistical background.
• Strong Python knowledge, including common libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn.
• Experience with Linux-based operating systems, Python IDEs, source control, and basic development tools.
• In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of machine learning algorithms, dataset validation, bias and leakage detection, and realistic train/test splitting.
• Ability to solve complex problems, exercise judgment across multiple information sources, and act as a resource for less experienced colleagues.

Nice to have

• Experience with advanced distributed machine learning frameworks such as Keras and TensorFlow.
• Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Graduate-level Data Science coursework or work, finance-sector experience, or finance coursework.
