Patient Benefits Representative - Radiation

Location: Norfolk, Virginia; full-time, in-person. Weekly travel between Brock and Princess Ann radiation office locations is required.

Compensation: $22.55–$26.51 per hour

What you will do

• Obtain and verify patient insurance coverage and demographic information before radiation or medical oncology treatment.
• Explain insurance benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses to patients.
• Assess patients’ ability to meet treatment expenses and discuss payment arrangements and financial assistance programs.
• Prepare patient cost estimates, reimbursement forms, and liability documents for review and signature.
• Enter and update patient co-pay, demographic, and insurance information in the computer system.
• Maintain documentation and professional relationships with financial assistance providers while complying with patient privacy and healthcare regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of pre-services coordinator experience.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of CPT and HCPCS coding applications.
• Clear verbal communication and accurate use of medical terminology.
• Ability to work in person during regular business hours and travel to clinic locations as needed.
