Staff Engineer, AI Platform

What you will do

• Own the internal AI platform used by teams across the organization to build and run AI-powered tools.
• Architect and write production code for a secure, scalable, reliable, and developer-friendly platform.
• Own the platform roadmap and translate needs from engineering, product, go-to-market, and operations into clear plans.
• Build and operate model gateways that route inference across providers based on cost, latency, capability, and data sensitivity.
• Measure AI system quality, identify regressions, and balance cost, safety, and performance.
• Drive adoption of AI practices and communicate technical direction from whiteboard discussions through executive-level conversations.

Requirements

• Staff-level engineering experience building and operating high-scale systems while remaining hands-on with production code.
• Strong understanding of frontier-model APIs, multi-agent orchestration, RAG, and developer interfaces such as CLIs and MCP.
• Experience building or operating model-routing gateways across multiple inference providers.
• Experience measuring and improving AI systems with unpredictable outputs.
• Security-first engineering experience, including guardrails, least-privilege access, human-in-the-loop escalation, monitoring, and auditing.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code, plus effective collaboration with security, legal, and finance.

• Experience in fintech, security, custody, or another regulated, high-trust environment.
• Experience navigating large organizations, multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and cross-team dependencies.
• Experience with digital assets, blockchain, or Web3.
