Senior Actuarial Analyst - Medical Economics

Location: Remote Flex - North Carolina; virtual work with a few in-office visits each year. Candidates outside the local area may be considered in states listed on the posting.

Salary: $98,092–$156,947 annually, plus an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Develop reporting structures, analytical toolsets, and strategies supporting market and domain teams, pricing, programs, and products.
• Build actuarial model enhancements and support the rating process.
• Investigate healthcare cost trends and anomalies and distribute established reports.
• Develop BI reports, dashboards, scorecards, and complex analytical solutions through the full development lifecycle.
• Partner with actuarial, business, and technology teams to explain enterprise data, definitions, usage, and BI tools.
• Contribute to moderate- and high-complexity projects and maintain formal data and tool knowledge resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree, where required.
• At least four years of relevant actuarial experience; related experience may be considered.
• Completion of five or more exams toward the ASA designation, with alternative consideration for additional relevant experience or ASA progress.
• SQL is required, particularly in a Snowflake environment.
• Strong data analysis, data modeling, data visualization, BI, and communication skills.
• Remote Flex work is primarily virtual, with occasional in-office visits; eligibility depends on the states listed on the posting.

Nice to have

• Commercial and Medicare healthcare knowledge.
• Experience with risk modeling and normalization, outlier analysis, and benchmarking.
• Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Power tools, Python, R, Alteryx, or workflow automation software.
• Experience with AI development tools, especially Copilot and Cortex Code.
• Strong communication and storytelling abilities.
