Solution Architect (AI)

Location: Remote for candidates based onshore in the United States or Canada; travel required as needed for Healthcare work. Chicago office listed at 550 Van Buren.

Base salary: $145,000–$170,000 USD per year. Total estimated compensation including annual incentive: $166,750–$218,750 USD per year.

What you will do

• Run early business conversations to frame the problem worth solving.
• Produce and maintain end-to-end solution designs as the work evolves.
• Translate business needs into buildable engineering requirements and explain technical delivery back to business stakeholders.
• Define success measures with the Engagement Manager and engineers before development begins.
• Build critical solution components alongside engineers.
• Apply healthcare or higher education domain knowledge to keep solutions relevant to the industry served.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in solution architecture, technical or experience design, or applied-AI advisory, including 1–2 years leading.
• Ability to turn unclear problems into designs engineers can build.
• Strong writing and facilitation skills, with credibility among executive stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing RAG systems, agents, and evaluation approaches.
• Must be based onshore in the United States or Canada for Healthcare work; travel is required as needed.

Nice to have

• Process mapping and service design experience.
• Healthcare or higher education domain depth.
• AWS or Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, CBAP (BABOK), or Claude Certified Architect - Foundations certification.
• Comfort working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and unclear problems.
