Associate Director, Senior AI Engineer

Location: Hybrid position based out of Princeton, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $169,222–$253,000 annually, plus incentive opportunity

What you will do

• Design and engineer reusable agentic AI components and multi-agent workflows for planning, reasoning, memory, and tool orchestration.
• Provide engineering leadership and solution architecture oversight for AI platform frameworks, reference patterns, guardrails, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and cost-performance controls.
• Lead small platform and partner teams delivering evaluation harnesses, prompt and model versioning, policy-as-code, telemetry dashboards, and incident runbooks.
• Guide solution teams toward approved Dataiku, Azure, AWS, and Snowflake Cortex pathways with scalable, reliable, secure, and governed production deployments.
• Implement evaluation frameworks for LLMs, prompts, safety controls, hallucination risk, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with data science, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, SecOps, security, compliance, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10–12+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, AI/ML, LLMOps/MLOps, or DevOps, including production-grade AI systems.
• Strong experience with Azure AI services and AWS AI services, including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI/ML, Cognitive Search, Bedrock, AgentCore, Comprehend, and SageMaker.
• Strong Python engineering skills and proficiency with FastAPI or Flask.
• Hands-on experience with Dataiku, Docker, CI/CD tooling, and vector database integrations such as OpenSearch or Pinecone.
• Demonstrated experience building agentic and multi-agent systems with LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel, including autonomous task orchestration and tool-enabled agents.
• Ability to work within Responsible AI, security, privacy-by-design, GxP, and 21 CFR Part 11 controls and influence technical direction across teams.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• AWS or Azure AI, developer, solutions architect, Bedrock, generative AI, or machine learning certifications.
• LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent agentic AI micro-credentials.
