Senior Consultant (Customs)

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; full-time, on-site role.

Salary: CAD 70,000–90,000 per year.

What you will do

• Classify imported products using the Harmonized Tariff System, general rules of interpretation, section and chapter notes, and explanatory notes.
• Research Customs rulings and prepare, submit, and manage binding classification ruling requests with the CBSA.
• Research OGA, ADD/CVD, quota, and permit requirements, as well as customs valuation and international trade agreements.
• Manage consulting projects, prepare reports and presentations, and deliver work within required timelines.
• Build relationships with domestic and international clients, government agencies, and internal teams while participating in client meetings and the sales process.
• Mentor junior team members and complete the company standard of 52 training hours per year.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of experience in an international trade environment.
• Canadian Customs Broker License or willingness to actively obtain one.
• Working knowledge of customs valuation, Canadian export regulations, international trade agreements, and the CBSA CARM Client Portal.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Superior analytical, investigative, problem-solving, and process documentation skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and CRM applications.
