Compliance Operations Manager

What you will do

• Build, lead, and develop the Compliance Operations team across KYC, transaction surveillance, and fraud risk management.
• Own hiring, role design, sourcing pipelines, workload distribution, and career progression for the function.
• Run quality assurance sampling, improve case decision quality, and keep SOPs aligned with operational practice.
• Define performance goals and KPI frameworks covering turnaround times, alert resolution SLAs, QA pass rates, STR/SAR filing timeliness, and backlog ageing.
• Produce operational management information on volumes, SLAs, QA outcomes, thematic issues, and emerging risks.
• Drive process improvement through threshold tuning, workflow redesign, automation of manual handoffs, and structured use of AI tooling.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant regulatory operations experience in a managerial capacity.
• Experience in financial services or the payments industry is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented thinking.
• Ability to coach team leads and senior analysts on investigations, case decisions, and escalation judgment.
• Ability to manage performance, address underperformance, and lead initiatives under tight timelines.
• Knowledge of payments-related regulations in Malaysia is an advantage.
