Water/Wastewater Engineering Specialist

Salary: $68,451.28–$78,230.03 per year

What you will do

• Perform technical engineering design and calculations for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Plan and design water and wastewater conveyance systems, pump stations, lift stations, and treatment plants.
• Complete pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations, pump calculations, and system curves for pump sizing.
• Prepare plans, specifications, bid forms, and opinions of probable construction costs.
• Visit sites during design and construction and observe installation activities.
• Review construction shop drawings and submittals for compliance with design documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
• EIT certification or successful completion of the FE Exam.
• 1–2 years of relevant water/wastewater infrastructure design experience preferred.
• Experience with water/wastewater infrastructure design and local municipalities or utility companies.
• Strong communication, organizational, time management, and independent-working skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other design disciplines.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with production tools, modeling software, and design software.
• Interest in learning project management, client interface, and business development.
