Consultant, Trade Operation (Logistics)

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and optimize Standard Operating Procedures for clients' processing trade operations.
• Manage the full trade operation lifecycle, including handbooks and e-files, import/export declarations, amendments, extensions, reconciliation, and closure.
• Supervise customs compliance, bonded materials, inward and outward processing, duty-free and quota controls, and physical inventory checks.
• Lead client audits, customs verifications, discrepancy resolution, and support for customs inspections and penalty disputes.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to transfer pricing, scrap and waste disposal, deep-processing transfers, and customs compliance.
• Collaborate with supply chain, finance, production, and legal teams, customs brokers, and authorities; improve data flows using customs and ERP systems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in processing trade, import/export, bonded warehousing, or customs brokerage.
• Deep knowledge of Chinese Customs regulations, including handbook and e-file management, verification, write-off, and duty exemption processes.
• Experience with customs inspections, post-clearance audits, and penalty disputes.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, with fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in International Trade, Logistics, Law, or a related field.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks under pressure, and use advanced MS Office tools, especially Excel.

• Customs Broker License or another relevant professional certification.
