What you will do

  • Answer incoming calls, assess patient needs, route calls, and communicate messages accurately.
  • Schedule new, referred, and returning patients, including appointments, tests, surgeries, and hospital admissions.
  • Create and maintain patient records, enter insurance authorizations, and manage referral documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Maintain physician scheduling templates covering meetings, satellite schedules, rounding, and call coverage.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other patient payments, and arrange financial counseling when needed.
  • Coordinate procedure preparation, pre-operative testing, clearances, and post-operative follow-up appointments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Entry-level profile with 0–3 years of experience; medical office experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume office environment with patients and the public.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and operate office equipment and computer systems for extended periods.
