What you will do

• Accompany physicians during patient examinations and document symptoms, physical examinations, clinical impressions, and care plans in the electronic medical record.
• Transcribe medical decision-making and procedure notes in real time, preparing polished encounter notes for referring physicians.
• Prepare new patient information, update problem lists, and maintain accurate electronic records.
• Create, edit, and print diagnosis-specific patient education materials and provide instruction within the appropriate scope of practice.
• Navigate EMR, PACS, and hospital portals; conduct requested online research and initiate physician-directed patient calls.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, compassionate interactions, accurate report formatting, equipment, and a safe work area.

Requirements

• At least one year of applicable experience or graduation from a scribe training program.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, multitasking, customer service, and teamwork skills.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft applications; experience with iKnowMed or Centricity is preferred but not required.
• Experience working with physicians and medical assistants.
• Typing proficiency is required; 60 words per minute is desirable.
• A bachelor’s degree or healthcare-related coursework in anatomy, physiology, or medical terminology is preferred.

Nice to have

• Current CPR certification.
• Experience with iKnowMed or Centricity.
