Medical Records Technicians (Healthcare)

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; hybrid work with travel to medical facilities and hospitals

Pay: $18–$21 per hour or $3 per record, whichever is higher; paid semi-monthly. Mileage and some travel expenses are reimbursed, with a $50 daily food allowance and travel booking support when required.

What you will do

• Retrieve and gather patient medical records from healthcare facilities and hospitals.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and organized patient information systems.
• Create digital copies of paperwork and store records electronically.
• File paperwork and reports quickly and accurately.
• Follow HIPAA, confidentiality, and records-management procedures.
• Interact with medical staff, healthcare providers, and other healthcare personnel.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license, clean motor vehicle record, personal vehicle, and active insurance in the candidate's name.
• Willingness to drive 60–80 miles or more round-trip and visit required facilities.
• Availability from 08:00 am to 05:00 pm in the respective time zone.
• Home internet access and basic PC and office equipment skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Healthcare experience in a hospital, clinic, or medical office.
• Experience with EHR or EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
• Knowledge of medical chart structure, medical terminology, and documentation tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot printers and scanners.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
