Manager - Purchasing, New Product Development / Introduction (AI)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States; primarily office-based

Salary: $103,300–$177,700 per year

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately nine North American GPSC professionals, with additional dotted-line global leadership responsibilities.
• Own key process parameters for new product development and introduction programs, including time-to-RFQ, time-to-source, gates-on-time, and cost-at-gate.
• Coordinate Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Operations, Finance, Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Supplier Development.
• Improve sourcing execution through category engagement playbooks, prototype and production source identification, should-cost reviews, and cost audits.
• Assess supplier capacity, manage new business hold controls, and use risk dashboards to identify and resolve forecasted performance concerns.
• Champion continuous improvement across NPD/NPI systems, processes, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with seven or more years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to travel up to 25%, including internationally.
• Experience with program and risk management, multiple concurrent programs, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, project management tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet, and MRP systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Executive Leadership and work in a global team environment.

Nice to have

• Advanced industry-related degree such as an MBA or MSc.
• Certifications such as PMP, CSCP, or CPSM.
• Leadership experience developing and inspiring high-performing teams.
• Experience in global manufacturing, off-highway, heavy equipment, or capital equipment industries.
• Experience with phase-gate or Global Product Development processes, including APQP/PPAP or equivalent methodologies, and interest in using Artificial Intelligence to improve outcomes.
