TL;DR

What you will do

  • Develop EMI/EMC control plans, analyze designs for interference risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Guide design teams on EMI/EMC requirements and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct EMI/EMC testing, including test plans, setups, execution, and reporting.
  • Model electromagnetic fields using CST Studio Suite, ANSYS HFSS, or FEKO at component, subsystem, and system levels.
  • Investigate non-compliance and performance issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead improvements to EMI/EMC practices and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, Physics, or a related field.
  • At least 11 years of EMI/EMC engineering experience, preferably in the space, aerospace, or defense industries.
  • Deep knowledge of EMI/EMC principles, standards, and regulations, including MIL-STD-461, DO-160, and ECSS.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and antennas.
  • Knowledge of shielding, filtering, grounding, and circuit- and system-level EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with spacecraft systems, satellites, or launch vehicles.
  • EMI/EMC certification, such as Certified EMC Engineer.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering practices and tools including DOORS and SysML.
