Senior Product Development Engineer - Mechanical

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end mechanical system development from feasibility studies and prototype builds through validation, certification, and commercialization.
• Develop material, component, and product specifications aligned with quality standards and quality assurance procedures.
• Translate product requirements into engineering workstreams, milestones, backlogs, and NPI execution plans.
• Validate mechanical designs through testing, iterative prototyping, compliance coordination, and performance evaluations.
• Support launch readiness through commercial collaboration and NPI training for internal and customer-facing groups.
• Lead design reviews, FMEAs, risk mitigation, advanced research, and customer-informed product improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program.
• Ideally 5+ years of related product development experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks assemblies, modeling, drawings, and PDM/PLM systems, including ENOVIA.
• Experience with digital prototyping, rapid design iteration, analytical problem-solving, and detailed engineering execution.
• Knowledge of UL, IEEE, and IEC compliance requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with global manufacturing, sourcing teams, test laboratories, project management, and multifunctional stakeholders.
