Assistant Speech-Language Pathologist

What you will do

• Provide speech and language services and intervention to eligible students under the direction of a licensed supervisor.
• Follow treatment plans and protocols developed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Document student performance through data collection, charts, records, and graphs, and report findings to the supervisor.
• Program and provide instruction on augmentative and alternative communication devices.
• Support scheduling, recordkeeping, supplies, equipment maintenance, and in-service training.
• Advocate for students and families through communication education, health literacy, and community awareness programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with an emphasis in speech-language pathology or communication sciences and disorders.
• Current Texas licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
• Knowledge of the habilitation and rehabilitation of speech, language, and fluency disorders.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and emotional intelligence skills.
• Experience using evidence-based intervention practices and willingness to engage with current research.
• Spanish-English bilingual speaker with experience providing therapy in Spanish to native Spanish-speaking students.
