Principal Data Engineer (Healthcare)

Salary: $155,500.80 - $225,492.80/year

What you will do

• Define and implement enterprise-scale data architecture and engineering strategies.
• Develop and deploy data pipelines, integrations, and transformations to support analytics and machine learning.
• Design, review, and optimize production code and platform capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Partner with product owners and delivery teams to conduct exploratory analysis and build analytical models.
• Translate quantitative assessments into actionable insights for leadership committees.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 7+ years of experience or Associate's degree with 9+ years of experience.
• Advanced experience in SQL and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, PHP, C++, or Java.
• Experience in hybrid data processing methods (batch and streaming) such as Apache Spark, Hive, Kafka.
• Knowledge of workflow scheduling, infrastructure as code (Kubernetes, Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in DataOps/DevOps and agile methodologies.

Nice to have

• Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with lakehouse architecture and modern storage formats like Parquet, Avro, and ORC.
• Experience with cloud-agnostic solutions and enterprise engineering standards.
• Knowledge of Denodo, Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, and Google Big Query.
