Superintendent (Construction)

Location: Empire State Building, New York, New York; onsite work with first- and second-shift flexibility required

Salary: $119,317.24–$136,362.56 per year

What you will do

• Organize, schedule, and oversee the daily and weekly activities of subcontractors and vendors.
• Identify and resolve construction challenges to keep projects on schedule.
• Maintain project, time-keeping, cost, receiving, and material records.
• Supervise self-performed work and implement methods that improve jobsite efficiency.
• Manage submittal approvals, long-lead items, material inspections, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, and construction schedule updates.
• Attend jobsite meetings and maintain quality control throughout all project phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• At least 8 years of relevant construction experience.
• Experience with NYC public building projects.
• Familiarity with NYC Building Department filings, rules, and requirements.
• Availability for first- and second-shift work is required.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with NYC public agencies, the School Construction Authority, or NYCHA.
