Microbiologist - Afternoon Shift (Sunday to Thursday 15:00-23:30)

Location: Alliston, Ontario, Canada; onsite afternoon shift, Sunday to Thursday, 15:00–23:30 EST

Salary: CAD 72,080–108,120 annually, including base salary and estimated target incentive payout.

What you will do

• Collect and test viable and non-viable air, water, surface, and critical-system samples as part of environmental monitoring.
• Perform solution bioburden, spore count, endotoxin, and subvisible particulate testing for raw materials and finished goods.
• Process biological indicators and support sterilizer qualification activities.
• Complete testing and documentation for critical work requests, emergency incidents, investigations, trending, APQRs, and validation maintenance.
• Prepare and perform growth promotion testing for prepared or purchased microbiological media.
• Support continuous improvement, root cause analysis, training, mentoring, and quality-focused team activities.

Requirements

• College diploma or university degree in microbiology or a related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing or quality function, with knowledge of aseptic technique and microbiological methods.
• 0–2 years of experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to comply with Good Laboratory Practices and work with required protective equipment around noise, machinery, belts, heat, humidity, water, and moving trucks.
• Availability for off-shift work, holidays, plant shutdowns, and mandatory rotating Saturday production-overtime coverage.
