Mechanical Integrity Engineer

Location: Hybrid in the United States; locations listed include Olean, New York, and Houston, Texas.

Base salary for a position based in New York: $89,600–$128,000 annually.

What you will do

• Evaluate the structural integrity and mechanical behavior of compressor and package components under static and dynamic loads.
• Perform finite element simulations for stress, displacement, transient loads, modal frequencies, and harmonic response.
• Support new-unit and service projects by assessing component and assembly compliance with industry specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support for field issues, product engineering, manufacturing, and sales.
• Contribute to quality improvement, cost reduction, standard-process enhancement, and product-development initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 3–5 years of mechanical analysis experience preferred.
• Proficiency with ANSYS Mechanical APDL/Workbench, Siemens NX, MATLAB, Excel, and Python.
• Experience with structural, dynamic, fatigue, thermal, nonlinear, 2D, and 3D analysis, including hand calculations.
• Strong knowledge of materials strength, heat transfer, vibration, and fatigue phenomena.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience with field failure investigations and turbomachinery.
• Knowledge of API, ASME, and DIN EN codes related to centrifugal compressors.
• Experience with experimental modal analysis.
