Infrastructure Systems Engineer 4 (Middleware)

hirify.global is hiring for a client running a multi-year program to modernize infrastructure and business systems.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and provide engineering-level support for Middleware products and environments.
• Set the technical direction for Middleware environments in partnership with Enterprise Architects and developers.
• Support large-scale modernization, upgrade, and migration projects, including the transition from IBM WAS 6.x–8.x to JBoss and Microservices-based platforms.
• Support messaging platforms including WebSphere MQ and Message Broker, as well as InfoSphere DataStage ETL technologies.
• Provide mentorship and technical support to Middleware operations and web engineering teams.
• Create system documentation, drive infrastructure automation, and support next-generation identity management initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• 5–10+ years of experience administering Middleware products as a Systems or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong experience with WebSphere and/or JBoss, including WAS, MB, and MQ in UNIX/Linux environments.
• Strong automation experience and proven Middleware- and system-level performance diagnostic skills.
• Experience gathering and documenting application requirements, backend resources, third-party software requirements, and implementation approaches.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience providing guidance and training to engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Identity and Access Management products such as SAM, SDI, ISIM, or TFIM.
• Motivation to acquire new skills independently and champion continuous improvement.
