Network Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales) - Japan

What you will do

• Provide pre-sales technical systems engineering support for customers in Japan in partnership with Account Managers.
• Conduct network architecture reviews and product presentations covering data center, campus, Wi-Fi, automation, security, and monitoring solutions.
• Design and propose data center and campus networks using leaf-spine architectures, VxLAN, EVPN, and network overlays.
• Perform hands-on testing for proof-of-concept setups, network designs, deployments, products, and features.
• Respond to RFPs and RFQs, create design guidelines, and recommend network improvements.
• Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering, represent Arista at industry events, and author technology white papers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience focused on data center, campus, and Wi-Fi solutions.
• Expert knowledge of routing and switching, including Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, multicast, spanning tree, and QoS.
• Recent experience designing leaf-spine architectures and expert-level knowledge of industry-standard CLI.
• Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer.
• Good understanding of competitor technologies, including Cisco and Juniper.

Nice to have

• Arista Cloud Engineer certification at ACE level 4–7.
• Experience with SDN and Network Function Virtualization.
• Experience building network automation with Python and Ansible.
• Ability to write technical white papers.
