Buyer (Entry Level) (Supply Chain)

Location: 224 Industrial Rd, Fitchburg, MA 01420, USA; full-time onsite role

Salary: $53,000–$71,000 per year

What you will do

• Plan and order component parts and finished goods in response to demand and supply changes.
• Improve and standardize daily planning, ordering, scheduling, and inventory-control processes.
• Maintain vendor-management processes, including supplier scorecards and forecasting.
• Place and follow up on purchase orders with domestic and international suppliers while verifying pricing and rates.
• Manage component-part and finished-goods inventory, including cycle counts, loss reduction projects, and SLOB inventory.
• Provide costing information, lead process-improvement projects, and support new product development or transitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
• At least six months of purchasing, scheduling, planning, or supply chain experience, including internship or co-op experience.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Experience using computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Google Applications, or Lotus Notes.
• Ability to work with purchasing, planning, materials management, logistics, finance, and suppliers.

Nice to have

• Machinist background.
• International purchasing experience.
• Experience with MFG Pro, Oracle, or an equivalent ERP system.
• APICS certification.
