Manager, R&D - Product Dev

Location: Glenview R&D Center, Glenview, Illinois, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office presence at least three days per week. Up to 30% travel to internal plants, co-manufacturers, suppliers, and other business locations in the United States and Canada.

New hire base salary: $104,200–$130,200 per year, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Lead product development across multiple cross-functional projects and product categories for the Away From Home and KHI business.
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of product developers by setting priorities, providing feedback, and building technical and leadership capability.
• Translate business objectives into development plans and drive execution from concept through commercialization.
• Lead product testing, qualification, and commercialization activities across laboratory, pilot plant, and production environments.
• Guide technical problem-solving related to products, ingredients, processes, formulations, and business continuity.
• Partner with R&D, operations, quality, regulatory, marketing, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and deliver against timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field, with at least six years of relevant product development experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with five years or a PhD with four years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing technical talent.
• Strong knowledge of ingredients, product formulation, processing equipment, ingredient interactions, and laboratory test methods.
• Experience leading product development and commercialization across multiple projects and priorities.
• Strong communication, influencing, project management, experimental design, interpretation of results, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and work in laboratory, storage, and manufacturing environments.
