Associate QA Manager - Labs (Food Manufacturing)

Salary: $90,400-$124,300 per year

What you will do

• Manage the plant's chemistry and microbiology quality assurance laboratories.
• Coordinate product start-ups, reformulations, test runs, specification compliance, and corrective action plans with plant operations, R&D, quality, and business teams.
• Supervise laboratory technicians and ensure staffing, equipment, sampling, testing, documentation, and laboratory training meet plant requirements.
• Investigate out-of-specification results involving microbiology, containers, ingredients, and products, partnering with operations and maintenance on corrective actions.
• Manage supplier quality monitoring, non-conformance tracking, sampling criteria, supplier reviews, and follow-up corrective actions.
• Support product releases, audits, mock recalls, commercialization, operational excellence initiatives, and quality reporting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of quality assurance, laboratory practice, or food experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of food science and technology for product activities and specification resolution.
• Experience or competency with MES, Zarpac, Historian, Power BI, WMS, SAP, Rebus, or related data and product-release systems.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional resolution of laboratory, food chemistry, quality, microbiology, and product start-up issues.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science degree in food science, biology, microbiology, or a related technical field.
• Five years of food industry experience with demonstrated achievements in quality assurance or laboratory practices.
• HACCP and/or PCQI certification.
