Managing Director - CFO Accounting Advisory (Fintech)

Location: Onsite in Irvine, California, USA

Salary: $215,950–$409,420 per year

What you will do

• Lead and deliver advisory engagements covering complex technical accounting matters, financial instruments, derivatives, securitizations, digital assets, and other financial services topics.
• Advise clients on U.S. GAAP, IFRS, regulatory frameworks, classification, measurement, disclosure, and fair value accounting.
• Support accounting policy development, restatements, remediation of material weaknesses, CECL implementation, and complex transaction accounting.
• Build and maintain relationships with CFOs, controllers, audit committees, financial institutions, fintech companies, asset managers, and exchanges.
• Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing teams while driving thought leadership on emerging FASB, SEC, IASB, and Basel III developments.
• Support business development, proposals, go-to-market strategies, and cross-functional delivery with tax, risk, valuation, managed services, and technology teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in financial services and/or technical accounting advisory; Big Four or top-tier consulting experience is preferred.
• Deep expertise in financial instruments and financial services accounting, including derivatives, hedge accounting, structured products, securitizations, and loan accounting.
• Industry experience in banking, capital markets, asset management, insurance, digital assets, private equity, or fintech.
• Proven ability to lead complex engagements and manage senior client relationships, with strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel overnight as necessary.
