Technology and Operations Communications, Director (AI)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; hybrid work model with time split between the office and home

Salary: $137,400–$240,400 USD per year, plus potential discretionary bonus and equity component

What you will do

• Develop strategic communications plans and campaigns for Technology, Operations, and Data, including AI, technology strategy, foundational initiatives, and operational transformation.
• Advise senior executives on messaging, positioning, stakeholder engagement, issues management, and crisis communications.
• Translate complex technology, operational, data, and cybersecurity topics into clear content for partners, clients, media, and industry stakeholders.
• Lead executive visibility across internal communications, social media, and relevant external platforms.
• Oversee executive materials including board presentations, Town Hall decks, keynote speeches, and fireside chat talking points.
• Lead content strategy, measurement, brand consistency, team development, performance management, and resource planning across related teams.

Requirements

• 10–12 years of relevant experience in communications, content strategy, or a related field.
• Recent IT communications experience and deep expertise in communications and content strategy.
• Exceptional writing, editing, editorial judgment, executive presence, and ability to advise senior leadership.
• Experience creating content across articles, headlines, infographics, video scripts, executive communications, social media, and other formats.
• Strong judgment in high-stakes situations, including issues and crisis communications, plus strong project management and organizational skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship. A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is preferred.
