TL;DR
Trade Compliance Manager EMEA (Customs and Export Controls): Ensuring EMEA compliance with customs regulations, export controls, sanctions, trade agreements, and environmental and safety standards with an accent on post-Brexit UK-EU trade, risk management, and regulatory governance. Focus on translating complex regulations into internal policies, managing audits and authorities, and resolving cross-functional compliance challenges.
Location: Bangor, County Down, United Kingdom; hybrid workplace. Applicants must already have authorization to work in the country of application; visa sponsorship is not available. No relocation assistance is provided.
Salary: £45,000–£68,000 annually, payable in monthly instalments, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits.

What you will do
- Monitor EMEA compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Translate customs, export control, sanctions, and trade agreement requirements into internal policies and procedures.
- Manage post-Brexit UK-EU trade processes, including customs declarations, VAT, tariffs, rules of origin, and system updates.
- Ensure product compliance with environmental and safety standards, including RoHS and REACH, and maintain certification documentation.
- Identify compliance risks, advise on mitigation, and contribute subject-matter expertise to organization-wide projects.
- Coordinate training, audits, regulatory reporting, record-keeping, and communication with customs authorities and regulators.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably in an international environment.
- University degree in compliance, international trade, or a related field, or certification as a compliance professional.
- Competent spoken and written English; additional languages are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of global trade regulations, customs, export controls, sanctions, free trade agreements, EU regulations, WTO rules, and related compliance requirements.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects, presenting complex regulations clearly, training diverse teams, and working with authorities or external regulators.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
