Credit Credit Analyst CRE, NYC (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: New York, NY, United States; hybrid schedule with four days a week of office attendance

What you will do

• Underwrite new commercial credit requests and material modifications from deal screening through approval and throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Monitor existing commercial credit portfolios through annual reviews, interim updates, covenant monitoring, problem-loan management, and early-warning indicators.
• Review financial statements, tax returns, appraisals, due diligence reports, credit bureau data, industry research, and peer data to assess creditworthiness.
• Prepare cash-flow analyses, collateral schedules, covenant sensitivity calculations, financial models, projections, and guarantor statement analyses.
• Recommend risk ratings and transaction structures based on company, bank base-case, and downside-case scenarios.
• Partner with relationship managers, participate in client calls, present analyses to credit committees, and ensure compliance with commercial credit policy and risk controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, plus at least two years of experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement analysis, or related financial analysis.
• Alternatively, six years of combined higher education and relevant work experience, including two years in a qualifying financial analysis area.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, credit metrics, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Experience with commercial real estate underwriting.
• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, Bloomberg, or nCino.
