Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Full-time, onsite schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:45 a.m.–2:15 p.m.

Salary: $31.30–$35.15 per hour, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Health, dental, 401(k), and wellness benefits begin on the first day of employment.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair plant infrastructure, facility systems, utilities, and production equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, corrective repairs, equipment rebuilds, and breakdown response.
• Work on HVAC, refrigeration, instrumentation, elevators, plumbing, carpentry, painting, grounds, pumps, motors, boilers, steam, gas, compressed air, and electrical systems.
• Use root cause analysis, breakdown failure analysis, cause maps, and predictive maintenance technologies to resolve equipment issues.
• Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, schematics, electrical drawings, pneumatics, hydraulics, and P&IDs.
• Document planned and unplanned work, findings, failures, and repairs in the computerized maintenance management system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of experience performing mechanical and electrical inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs in a manufacturing facility.
• Successful completion of the plant-specific maintenance test.
• Valid driver's license; forklift and aerial lift certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to work safely with OSHA, GMP, PPE, Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash, Hot Work Permit, confined-space, and environmental requirements.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor conditions involving dust, noise, heat, cold, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.

Nice to have

• Some college or formal technical school education.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, carpentry, plumbing, and welding techniques.
• Two years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical or electrical certifications or licenses.
