Senior Solution Engineer (Expansion)

Location: Remote, Malaysia; must be based in Malaysia and able to travel within the region as needed.

What you will do

• Own technical expansion strategies for a portfolio of telecommunications and financial services customers in Malaysia.
• Identify workloads, use cases, and lines of business for Snowflake adoption, including risk and compliance, customer 360, network analytics, fraud, revenue assurance, and real-time personalization.
• Lead technical discovery, executive presentations, demos, proofs of concept, pilots, architecture design, and implementation planning throughout the sales cycle.
• Design target-state architectures, reference patterns, and roadmaps for data consolidation, analytics, data science and AI, and data sharing or monetization.
• Advise on data modeling, performance, cost governance, security, operations, migration from legacy platforms, data residency, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, Product, Engineering, system integrators, ISVs, and cloud partners; represent Snowflake at workshops and events, create technical content, and mentor junior solution engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Solutions Engineer, Pre-Sales Architect, or Data Architect, in the data, analytics, or cloud space.
• Strong hands-on expertise with cloud data platforms, data warehousing, or big data technologies, including Snowflake, SQL data warehouses, Hadoop/Spark, or cloud-native data services.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one programming language commonly used in data and analytics, such as Python.
• Ability to design and communicate architectures for data integration, warehousing, BI and analytics, and data science or ML workloads.
• Industry experience or strong exposure to financial services and/or telecommunications, including banks, insurers, capital markets, payment providers, telecom operators, cable/media companies, or digital service providers.
• Demonstrated success driving technical wins and expansion in enterprise accounts, ideally in a subscription- or consumption-based model.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including engagement with technical teams and senior business or IT executives.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while managing multiple complex opportunities in parallel.
• Based in Malaysia, with ability to travel within the region as needed.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-native data platforms, including data ingestion and transformation, performance tuning and cost governance, security, data masking, and governance.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, and their data and analytics ecosystems.
• Understanding of FSI and Telco regulatory and compliance landscapes, including data residency, Bank Negara Malaysia and regional guidelines, and industry standards.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and/or data science and ML frameworks.
• Previous field pre-sales experience at a data platform, cloud provider, or analytics/AI company.
