What you will do

  • Develop and modify equipment diagrams, prototypes, and new HVAC product designs, including component specifications.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical designers and engineers to integrate product designs with other systems.
  • Provide design guidance and oversight to mechanical designers, lead projects, and mentor junior design engineers.
  • Establish testing, operation, maintenance, and repair procedures; test and troubleshoot designs for functionality and safety.
  • Support engineering changes, prototypes, initial production, test fixtures, part-shortage decisions, and product releases.
  • Create bills of materials, cost estimates, translation documents, product documentation, and operating instructions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, plus 3 years of industry experience; alternatively, an associate degree with 7 years of industry experience.
  • Strong mechanical engineering, design, analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Experience with mechanical CAD modeling and simulations, as well as support for DFMEA, PFMEA, CFD, FEA, and seismic evaluations.
  • Knowledge of safety and design standards including UL, CE, NEC, IBC, and NFPA.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure team environment.
  • Ability to work onsite in Memphis and periodically visit the manufacturing facility; the role includes lifting up to 50 pounds and exposure to seasonal temperatures, dust, and some chemical fumes.
