Business Performance Improvement - Finance & Performance Management (Financial Services) Director

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid work with regular presence at the hirify.global home office and client sites, and residence within a reasonable daily commute required. hirify.global is not registered to hire or employ personnel in West Virginia or Alaska.

Salary: $176,000–$300,000 per year, plus a 20% bonus target; estimated total cash range of $211,200–$360,000.

What you will do

• Lead finance and accounting transformation engagements for banking, capital markets, and wealth and asset management clients.
• Develop business opportunities, participate in sales efforts, write proposals, and create thought leadership materials.
• Maintain senior client relationships while managing expectations, project scope, delivery quality, and operational matters.
• Shape enterprise process excellence strategies, process inventories, and repeatable transformation playbooks.
• Direct cross-functional teams across process intelligence, re-engineering, AI, and automation.
• Lead client checkpoint meetings and ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience leading teams in consulting or financial services, including finance operating model design, performance management, shared services, outsourcing advisory, or digital transformation.
• Experience leading transformational finance and accounting projects, including investor or fund performance reporting and month-end close optimization.
• Knowledge of finance strategy, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, shared services, global business services, target operating model design, FP&A, consolidation, and reporting.
• Experience evaluating and improving business processes, managing change, leading client meetings, and developing business opportunities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Power Automate, UiPath, Celonis, SAP Signavio, IBM Blueworks, Nintex Process Manager, and Microsoft Visio.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information technology, business, or a related field; CPA, CIA, CFE, or similar certification strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in accountancy or a related field.
• Experience with accounting transitions, including lease accounting, revenue recognition, reconciliation, and restatement support.
